Jo's Experience

I have over 25 years experience in the voluntary sector specifically in fundraising and management and I have been employed by charities such as Amnesty International and the National Osteoporosis Society.

I commissioned fundraising consultants over many years working on ‘the other side of the fence’ and I have a clear understanding of what charities need from consultants.

Right now many charities are facing an increasing demand for their services but with a significant drop-off in available funding. My key objectives when working with clients are to;

  • identify and act on opportunities to secure new funding
  • work quickly and efficiently to generate the funds
  • help the organisation to develop future self-reliance

Jo's Story

Picture of Jo Byron

I was born in Scotland but brought up mainly in South East England. I began my career in the City after a year in the Middle East and Asia. Initially I worked in Sales for information technology companies and then my dream job came along at Amnesty International. I have been working for charities ever since. After 10 years I decided to leave London and move out to greener pastures and I am now based in Somerset, near Bath. When I am not fundraising, and not looking after my family, I enjoy gardening, the arts and current affairs.

I am also a Trustee of a local charity supporting people in the community with arts based projects. When I have time I also volunteer at a small local school which I set up with a handful of parents two years go - an experience that taught me that anything is possible when you put your mind to it!

Jo is currently available for consultation and projects, contact her now or call her on 07807 845056
